Samuel B. Adkins III, MD completed his undergraduate education at Allegheny College and medical school at The University of Pittsburgh. He remained in Pittsburgh at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital for his residency training. He has completed fellowships at both The University of North Carolina and East Carolina University. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine in Family Medicine, Sports Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Adkins has served as a team physician for several different athletic organizations and schools, including the University of Texas Longhorns in Austin, TX.
Dr. Adkins has interest in all areas of both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine. He has a keen interest in developing a patient centered medical home that is drvien by quality measures.
Dr. Adkins and his wife, Lisa are proud parents of a son, Brent. He takes the advice he gives to his patients, living a healthy and active lifestyle that includes a healthy diet and daily exercise. You may see him at local cycling events as a participant. |
