Paul A. Delaney, MD, like many physicians of Cabarrus Family Medicine, has an untraditional background. With degrees in engineering physics and meteorology, his medical career began as a research scientist in respiratory physiology, which he did for a number of years before attending medical school at Georgetown University in Washington, DC.
Dr. Delaney completed his residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center’s St. Margaret Hospital. It was there that he met his wife (also a Cabarrus Family Medicine physician) who brought him to North Carolina in 2004, where they practiced in a very rural community in eastern North Carolina for two years prior to joining Cabarrus Family Medicine.
