JEROME NYMBERG, MD

Jerome H. Nymberg III, M.D. is a family physician at Cabarrus Family Medicine - Concord. He received his undergraduate degree in biology at Thomas More College and attended medical school at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He completed his postgraduate training in family medicine at the Duke-Watts Family Medicine Residency Program and subsequently joined the faculty in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. He resumed his postgraduate training as a fellow in a Faculty Development/Family Systems Medicine Fellowship at the University of Rochester where he also received additional training in marital and family therapy. Dr. Nymberg has lectured and published widely in a variety of areas, including mood and anxiety disorders in primary care, the integration of mental health services into medical groups, and the role of the collaborative care model in healthcare delivery.

Dr. Nymberg is currently Associate Director of Behavioral Medicine at the Cabarrus Family Medicine Residency Program. He serves as an ad hoc reviewer for American Family Physician and Family, Systems, and Health and previously served as a clinical panel member for the Expert Consensus Consortium on OCD.

Dr. Nymberg and his wife, Jane, have two children and live in Huntersville, North Carolina. He enjoys reading, creative writing, and competitive swimming in his free time.
