Cheryl B. Masters, Ph.D., grew up in Suffolk, Virginia. She received an undergraduate degree in psychology from Virginia Tech and went on to obtain a doctorate in psychology from the University of Memphis in TN. She completed an APA approved internship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Masters is trained as a general clinician and has expertise in health psychology and behavioral medicine. Before joining Cabarrus Family Medicine – Psychological & Behavioral Health, she was employed at a neuroscience center where she treated patients with chronic pain, headaches, spinal injuries, brain tumors, and helped prepare them for surgery. Dr. Masters' other clinical interests include eating disorders, ADHD, stress-related medical problems, and anxiety disorders.
Outside of her career, Dr. Masters' interests turn to family outings and cooking. Dr. Masters, her husband, Sam, and their two sons reside in Concord
