J. Wesley Teeter, M.A. is a North Carolina native and received his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He was awarded the Master of Arts in clinical psychology from Appalachian State University in 1983. Prior to joining the behavioral medicine staff at Cabarrus Family Medicine – Psychological and Behavioral Health, he served as a staff psychologist at a local mental health center, a director and lead therapist at a free-standing outpatient counseling center, and the senior psychotherapist in a psychiatry practice.
Mr. Teeter’s specialty areas include the spectrum of anxiety disorders, couple’s therapy, family therapy, and grief recovery.
Mr. Teeter, his wife and two children are long time residents of the area. He enjoys sailing, sand sculpting, and playing the drums.
